Alfonso Rivarola

Alfonso Rivarola, conocido como Il Chenda (Ferrara, 1607 - Ferrara, 1640), pintor italiano, activo durante el barroco.

Biografía

Alumno y ayudante predilecto de Carlo Bononi, fue el encargado de completar los Desposorios de la Virgen para la iglesia de Santa Maria in Vado que el maestro había dejado sin concluir a su muerte (1632). Rivarola trabajó con asiduidad para las iglesias ferraresas, donde se conservan diversas obras de su mano. Tuvo una carrera corta: cuando se esperaba mucho de su talento, falleció inopinadamente a la edad de 33 años.
