Muhammara (en árabe: محمرة) o Mhammara es una salsa picante empleada para untar, dicha salsa procede originalmente del Aleppo, Siria y en la actualidad en algunos lugares como Anatolia y el Levant.

Características

Los ingredientes prinicipales empleados en la elaboración de esta salsa son por regla general frescos, aunque existen ingredentes como guindillas y nueces molidas, migas de pan y aceite de oliva. Las recetas pueden incluir ajo, sal, zumo de limón, y sirope de granada y en algunas ocasiones con el objeto de aromatizar comino u hojas de menta.
