El mosquero silbador, atrapamoscas silbador o suirirí silbón[2] es una especie de ave de la familia Tyrannidae, que se encuentra en Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guayana francesa, Guyana, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, Surinam y Venezuela.[1]

Vive en la canopia del bosque húmedo, bosques de galería y a veces en los bordes del bosque, por debajo de los 500 m de altitud]].[3] [4] [5]

Descripción

Mide 18[5] a 19 cm de longitud.[3] De coloración general gris con copete, mejillas, alas y cola oscuros negruzcos; vientre claro blancuzco.[6]

Alimentación

Se alimenta de insectos, aprovechando los que huyen al provocar ruido o porque son perseguidos por otros pájaros.[5]

Reproducción

Nidifica en cavidades naturales de los árboles.[5]
