Horse Whisperer (1998) es una película dirigida y protagonizada por Robert Redford, basada en la novela escrita por Nicholas Evans en 1995. Redford interpreta el papel protagonista, un entrenador con un gran talento para adiestrar a caballos, que es contratado para recobrar la normalidad en el caballo de una adolescente (interpretada por Scarlett Johansson) después de un trágico accidente.

Argumento

La joven adolescente Grace MacLean (Scarlett Johansson) sufre, junto a su mejor amiga Judith (Kate Bosworth), un grave incidente equino en el cual sus dos caballos resbalan debido al hielo que cubre el pavimento forestal. Este hecho desencadena un fatal desenlace en el cual Judith y su caballo mueren, Pilgrim (el caballo de Grace) recibe heridas casi mortales, y ella misma pierde una pierna. Como consecuencia de las heridas del caballo, la madre de Grace decide llevarlo al "Susurrador de Caballos" Tom Booker (Robert Redford), el cual poco a poco, irá devolviendo un aspecto física y psicológicamente corriente en Pilgrim. Mientras tanto, Annie (Kristin Scott Thomas), la madre de Grace tendrá un romance con Tom, del cual se librará al finalizar su estancia en la casa de los Booker.
