Tynwald

Tynwald (en manés Tinvaal), o de manera más formal, la Suprema Corte de Tynwald (en manés Ard-whaiyl Tinvaal) es la legislatura de la isla de Man. Es el cuerpo parlamentario con existencia continua más antiguo del mundo, siendo fundado en el año 979. El Tynwald consiste de dos cámaras: la Cámara de Claves (House of Keys), electa de manera directa y el Consejo Legislativo de la Isla de Man, electo de manera indirecta.[1]

Algunos argumentan que el Tynwald consiste en realidad de tres cámaras,[2] pues en ocasiones ambas cámaras fungen como un solo organismo, y en otras ocasiones fungen como cámaras separadas.
