Cordocentesis

La Cordocentesis es un procedimiento de análisis invasivo para extraer sangre del cordón umbilical del feto por medio de una fina aguja hipodérmica introducida en el abdomen.[1]

Procedimiento

Esta prueba puede realizarse en un estadio relativamente avanzado del embarazo (a partir de las 20 semanas), una vez se haya desarrollado el cordón umbilical. El médico inserta una aguja en el abdomen de la mujer embarazada con la ayuda del ecógrafo para alcanzar el útero hasta uno de los vasos sanguíneos del cordón umbilical y extrae una muestra de sangre que será analizada.

Riesgos

Los análisis invasivos suponen un pequeño riesgo de aborto espontáneo.[2]
