Phytelephas es un género con 28 especies de plantas con flores perteneciente a la familia de las palmeras (Arecaceae). Es originario de América tropical desde Panamá hasta Suramérica.

La semilla de Phytelephas sp. es conocida generalmente como tagua o marfil vegetal.
