Gary Cole es un actor norteamericano nacido el 20 de septiembre de 1956 en Park Ridge, Illinois. Principalmente actor de televisión, Cole trabajó en series como The West Wing, Family Guy y Family Affair. Su papel más reciente es como Wayne Davis, el ex-marido agresivo y violento de Katherine Mayfair, de la serie Desperate Housewives. Estudió actuación en la Illinois State University y formó el grupo de teatro Remains Theatre Ensemble en Chicago con su amigo actor William Petersen.

Fue el protagonista de las series American Gothic y Crusade, y pudo vérsele encarnando a Bill Lumbergh, el odioso jefe de la película de culto Trabajo Basura.
