Guiscarda de Bearn

Guiscarda fue la hija primogénita de Gastón IV, vizconde de Bearn, y de Talesa de Aragón.

Se casó con Pedro vizconde de Gabarret, muerto antes de 1134, del que tuvo un hijo llamado Pedro. Cuando su hermano Céntulo VI de Bearn murió sin sucesión en 1134, el título de vizconde pasó a Guiscarda y de ella automáticamente a su hijo (las mujeres no podían, en principio, ser vizcondesas). Durante la minoría de edad del niño fueron regentes primero Talesa, la madre de Guiscarda, y después la propia Guiscarda. En 1147 Pedro II fue declarado mayor de edad y Guiscarda se retiró de sus funciones de gobierno.

Cuando Pedro II murió en 1153, Guiscarda asumió de nuevo la regencia y la responsabilidad sobre los hijos de éste, Gastón y María, pero ella misma murió en 1154.
