HMS Cumberland

HMS Cumberland, ha sido el nombre de once buques de la Royal Navy británica, por el tradicional país inglés de Cumberland:

  • navío de línea de 80 cañones[1] botado en 1695. Fue capturado por Francia en la Batalla de Lizard en 1707. En 1715 fue vendido a Génova y en 1717 a España, que lo renombró Principe de Asturias . Posteriormente, fue de nuevo capturado por Gran Bretaña en la Batalla del cabo Passaro en 1718 y fue vendido a Austria en 1720, que lo renombró San Carlos.
  • brulote armado con 8 cañones, que anteriormente, fue el buque civil Alex Roberts. Fue adquirido en 1739 y desguazado en 1742.[2]
  • goleta adquirida en 1803. Fue capturada por los franceses en 1804 pero fue recapturada en 1809 y posteriormente, fue vendida en 1810.[2]
  • crucero acorazado de clase crucero pesado de clase County botado en 1926 y desguazado en 1959.[3]
  • HMS Cumberland (F85) es una fragata del Tipo 22 botada en 1986 actualmente en servicio.[3]
