In Darkness Dwells es uno de seis cortometrajes que comprenden al Film antologico directo-al-DVD de 2008: Batman: Gotham Knight. El guion fue escrito por David Goyer con historia por Jordania Goldberg, y fue dirigido por Yasuhiro Aoki con Christopher Drake quien también musicaliso el film.El actor Will Friedle, quien interpreto anteriormente a Terry McGinnis / Batman en Batman Beyond, regresa en este film junto a Kevin Conroy. La película fue producida por Madhouse, la misma compañía de animación que hizo series de anime tales como Cardcaptor Sakura, Death Note y Final Fantasy VII. Este es uno de los pocos cortometrajes que forman canon con Batman Begins.

Argumento

Hubo informes de personas atacadas por una criatura reptilian de 8 pies de altura. Batman está seguro que la toxina de miedo de El Espantapájaros está relacionada con estos incidentes y comienza una investigación en las alcantarillas. Batman es de repente atacado por el monstruo, Killer Croc, que fue inyectado con la toxina de miedo del Espantapájaros, así infectando a Batman con ello. Él derrota a Croc y hacer su camino más profundo en las alcantarillas, encuentra y encara el Espantapájaros. Él inunda la cámara del Espantapájaros y hulle junto al único rehén del Espantapajaros, aunque el Espantapájaros se escape.
