Un kolache (pronunciado también como kolace, kolach, o incluso kolacky, procedente del checo y el plural del eslovaco koláče) es un tipo de pastel que contiene diferentes tipos de rellenos de compotas de frutas además de ingredientes salados como quesos con presentación muy similar a una especie de panecillo. Este bollo se encuentra muy presente en las pastelerías de Europa Central y debido a la inmigraciónde los habitantes de estos países puede verse en algunas pastelerías de Estados Unidos.

Curiosidades

Este dulce fue elegido para representar la pastelería típica de la República Checa en la iniciativa de Café Europa durante la presidencia austriaca de la Unión Europea en 2006.
