Kven

Kven

El idioma kven es hablado por unas 2000 y 8000 personas en Noruega. Se reconoce como una lengua de minoría oficial. Es una lengua fino-ugria usada por la población Kven en el norte de Noruega, antes se consideraba como un dialecto fínico. Recibió su estatus de oficialidad en 2005 dentro del trato de idiomas de regiones y minoría de la Unión Europea.

Es cercanamente relacionada con el meänkieli, careliano y fínico.
