L'Estartit es una entidad de población costera del municipio de Torroella de Montgrí. Tiene 4.237 habitantes (2009)

Se encuentra a poco más de un kilómetro del archipiélago de las Islas Medas.

Es un pueblo de veraneo, tiene un puerto y un club náutico (Club Náutico de Estartit) donde se hacen muchas actividades acuáticas vela, inmersión, natación, etc. También destaca su equipo de fútbol femenino, la Unió Esportiva L'Estartit.
