Fried Coke se trata de una masa congelada y saborizada con sirope de Coca-Cola que luego es frita. Al servirse en forma de copa que se cubre con nata montada, azúcar de canela y cereza. Este postre es muy popular en Texas.

Historia

Se cuenta que su inventor fue Abel Gonzales, Jr., en 2006 en el State Fair of Texas (Feria Estatal de Texas) , donde ganó el título del "Más creativo" en la segunda ronda anual de la competición entre vendedores de comida.[1] [2] La popularidad fue tan grande que logró vender más de diez mil copas en las dos primeras dos semanas. En 2009, Fried Coke fue objeto de un programa televisivo monográfico tietulado Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods con el presentador Andrew Zimmern.

Características

Se estima que Fried Coke posee unas 830 calorias (3,500 kJ) por copa.[3]
