El kamanche o kamancha es un instrumento de cuerda frotada, originario de Persia.[1] Es utilizado en la música tradicional clásica de Irán, Armenia, Azerbayán, Uzbekistán y Turkmenistán, con ligeras variaciones en la estructura del instrumento. En Cachemira es conocido saaz-i-kashmir.[2]

Tradicionalmente , el kamanche tiene 3 cuerdas de seda, pero el moderno tiene 4 cuerdas de metal, mientras que las clavijas de afinación son de marfil.
