Historia

Fue publicado en el verano de 1966, apenas dos meses después de Pet Sounds . Incluye muchas de sus canciones más populares de 1963 a 1965. El álbum alcanzó el puesto #8 en Estados Unidos y pronto llego al disco de oro. Se rumorea que Brian Wilson se han irritado por la decisión de lanzar una recopilación de los mayores exitos del grupo, ya que el nuevo material del grupo era cada vez más compleja y sofisticada.

La edición de Reino Unido del álbum, tiene una versión mas revisada de las canciones, más tarde se publicó en el año, alcanzando el sugundo puesto en los gráficos británicos.

Aunque Best of The Beach Boys fuera certificado como doble platino en los Estados Unidos, es actualmente fuera del mercado, suplantados por recopilaciones más completas.
