The Party es una película estadounidense de 1968, del género comedia, producida y dirigida por Blake Edwards, protagonizada por Peter Sellers en el rol principal.

La cinta comienza con una parodia de la película Gunga Din de George Stevens, a la que Edwards tenía gran cariño, y desemboca en las desventuras de un afamado actor hindú, que en Hollywood solo ha conseguido trabajar como extra.

Contenido

Argumento

Un extra torpe, por accidente destroza el decorado de la película en la que interviene, por lo que es despedido. No obstante, recibe por error una invitación del productor de la película para acudir a una fiesta. En la fiesta, los acontecimientos se precipitan, incluyendo una invasión de espuma, un elefante bebé, un camarero alcohólico, un pollo volador, una trouppe de músicos rusos y un lorito y su alimento, "Pajarito Num Num"..
