Khachmaz (Azerí: Xaçmaz) es uno de los cincuenta y nueve rayones en los que subdivide políticamente la República de Azerbaiyán. La ciudad capital es la ciudad de Xaçmaz.

Territorio y Población

Este rayón es poseedor una superficie de 1.045 kilómetros cuadrados, los cuales son el hogar de una población compuesta por unas 155.775 personas. Por ende, la densidad poblacional se eleva a la cifra de los 149,06 habitantes por cada kilómetro cuadrado de este rayón.

Economía

La región está dominada por la agricultura. Se cultivan verduras, frutas y cereales. En la capital, se destacan la industria de procesamiento de alimentos y la industria ligera. En las ciudades con costas en el Mar Caspio, la importancia económica depende del turismo[1] .

Transporte

Por el Rayón de Khachmaz pasa la línea ferroviaria llamada Azərbaycan Dövlət Dəmir Yolu que llega hasta la Federación Rusa[2] .
