The Orange Box, creado por Valve, es un paquete de videojuegos que contiene Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal y Team Fortress 2. Ha sido lanzado para PC, Xbox 360 y PlayStation 3. Half-Life 2: Episode Three puede aparecer más adelante en forma de contenido descargable.

En la versión Steam de este paquete, incluye tres juegos extra: Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Half-Life 2: Lost Coast y Peggle Extreme.

Half-Life 2

Juego galardonado con decenas de premios al juego del año 2004. Donde se sigue la historia del doctor Freeman a lo largo de Ciudad 17.

Half-Life 2: Episode One

Primera expansión oficial de la segunda parte de Half-Life, en este juego la trama es una carrera contra el tiempo debido a la explosion masiva de la ciudadela. La principal mejora es el desarrollo de los personajes no jugadores aliados, en este caso, el de Alyx Vance.

Half-Life 2: Episode Two

Segunda expansión de Half-Life 2, la historia continua donde se acaba la primera parte de la expansión de Half-Life 2. En el juego se muestran grandes mejoras: La principal es la de librar grandes batallas en entornos abiertos y de gran tamaño.

Portal

Portal es uno de los juegos que se incluye. En este hay que resolver un puzzle mediante el uso de portales de teletransportacion, porque recibiremos un arma creadora de portales, con esta arma hay que crear puertas para pasar de un lugar hacia otro Ejemplo:Si se dispara un portal hacia la pared izquierda y otro a la derecha, entraremos por la izquierda y saldremos por la derecha, y viceversa.

Team Fortress 2

Secuela de Team Fortress Classic, con un desenfadado diseño gráfico y dosis de humor.

Polémica acerca del idioma

The Orange Box, en sus versiones para PlayStation 3 y Xbox 360 no incluye doblaje ni traducción al Español, la cual se encuentra en la versión para PC. Ante las críticas Valve prometió un parche con la traducción, pero hasta ahora no hay indicios de que la incluyan en ninguna de las dos versiones.

Actualmente se da por perdida la posibilidad de tener doblaje o traducción española para The Orange Box de PS3 y Xbox 360 pese a existir en PC. Aunque Valve ha confirmado que van a actualizar la versión de The Orange Box de PlayStation 3, después de haberse reconciliado con Sony en el pasado E3, y es muy posible que incluyan el idioma español.
