Time to Dance es la sexta canción del álbum debut A Fever You Can't Sweat Out de la banda americana Panic! at the Disco, que fue lanzada en 2005. La canción es la primera que escribió el guitarrista de la banda, Ryan Ross, y en una entrevista con la revista Rolling Stone señaló que era la única canción del primer disco que la banda odiaba. Se han editado tres versiones de la canción: un demo, un segundo demo y la que aparece en el álbum.

La entrada instrumental de la canción fue utilizada en un comercial de "NBA on CBS"

Significado

La canción se basa en y alude a la novela "Monstruos Invisibles" de Chuck Palahniuk. Por ejemplo, la frase "When I say shotgun, you say wedding..." (en español: "Cuando diga escopeta, dices casamiento") deriva de que en la primera escena del libro de "Monstruos Invisibles" hay un personaje que es disparado con una escopeta en un casamiento. Otro verso dice "Give me envy, give me malice, give me your attention" (en español: "Dame envidia, dame malicia, dame tu atención"), el cual es una frase recurrente del narrador en "Monstruos Invisibles". Más extractos de la canción se asemejan al libro:

  • "Walls line the bullet holes" ("Las paredes forran los hoyos de balas"): la novela comienza con un tiroteo.
  • "Boys will be boys hiding in estrogens" ("Los chicos serán chicos escondiéndose en estrógenos"): se refiere al travestido de la novela.
  • "Wearing aubergine dreams" ("Vistiendo sueños color berenjena"): se refiere al color favorito de maquillaje del travestido.[1]
