José María Méndez de Vigo y Méndez de Vigo ingeniero de caminos español Diputado por la fracción política conservadora miembro del Congreso de los Diputados de España por el Distrito de Tudela (provincia de Navarra) durante seis legislaturas del período histórico conocido como Restauración borbónica en España.[1]

Biografía

Hijo de Felipe Méndez de Vigo y Osorio y de María Paz Méndez de Vigo y Oráa. Hermano del también diputado Manuel Méndez de Vigo, marqués de Atarfe.

Ingeniero de Caminos, subdirector del Canal de Isabel II y técnico del canal de Lodosa (1915).

Restauración

En las Elecciones generales de España de 1914, fue proclamado Diputado para el Distrito de Tudela por la Junta Provincial de Navarra obteniendo 4 826 votos de un total de 9 323 emitidos, con un censo electoral de 11 683 electores. [2] Obtuvo su primera acta derrotando a los jaimistas.[3] Su oponete fue Luis Martínez Kleiser.[4]

Reconocimientos

Fructuoso Orduna realiza un relieve escultórico en bronce en homenaje al senador José María Méndez Vigo, inaugurado en Tudela en 1929.[5]
