Libu

Los Libu (Rebu.svg, R'bw, Ribou, Labu Laguatan, o Lwatae) fueron una antigua tribu bereber, de la cual deriva el nombre de Libia. Su ocupación de la Antigua Libia está atestiguada en textos egipcios del Imperio Nuevo, sobre todo del periodo ramésida. La primera mención es en un inscripción de Ramsés II.[1]

Laguatan fue el nombre que usaron los autores romanos para referirse a las tribus nómadas de Cirenaica.[2]

Han sido descritos como cazadores y nómadas,[3] pero hay quien los considera sedentarios y cazadores.[4]
