Living with War: In the Beginning es una versión "desnuda" del álbum de estudio Living with War, del músico canadiense Neil Young, publicado en 2006. Según el comunicado de prensa previo a su lanzamiento, el álbum iba a ser llamado Living with War - Raw. Sin embargo, el título fue finalmente modificado.

Living with War: In the Beggining incluye las primeras mezclas de las grabaciones de Living with War, que fueron publicadas con anterioridad en iTunes el 7 de noviembre de 2006, coincidiendo con el día de las elecciones legislativas. También en iTunes se publicaron cuatro vídeos dirigidos por Neil Young sobre las canciones "After The Garden," "Families," "Lookin' for a Leader" y "America the Beautiful".

Living with War, originariamente publicado en mayo de 2006, creó inmediatamente una tormenta de reacciones a ambos lados del espectro político estadounidense. Con canciones como "The Restless Consumer", Shock and Awe", "Flags of Freedom" y "Let's Impreach the President", el álbum fue rápidamente considerado como una declaración musical única. En su versión ruda, el sonido procede directamente de la fuente original, capturado en directo en el estudio del modo en que fue grabado, sin la instrumentación y el acompañamiento vocal posterior.[1]
