Patrick O'Connell

Patrick Joseph O'Connell (nacido el 8 de marzo de 1887, fallecido el 27 de febrero de 1959), también conocido como Paddy O'Connell o Patricio O'Connell, fue un futbolista y entrenador irlandés. Jugó como defensa, destacando en el Belfast Celtic,[1] Sheffield Wednesday, Hull City y Manchester United. Como jugador internacional de Irlanda fue miembro del equipo que ganó el Campeonato británico de 1914. Sin embargo O'Connell destacó por dirigir a varios clubes de la liga española. En 1935 llevó al Real Betis a la victoria del campeonato de liga de primera división y durante la Guerra Civil Española dirigió al FC Barcelona en una gira en Norteamérica. A pesar de todos estos éxitos, murió en la indigencia en Londres en 1959.
