Sorghastrum, es un género de plantas herbáceas de la familia de las gramíneas o poáceas.[1] Es originario de África tropical y Subtropical y América.

Contenido

Etimología

El nombre del género se compone de Sorghum (otro género de misma familia) y de la palabra latina astrum (una pobre imitación), refiriendose a la semejanza entre los géneros.

Citología

El número cromosómico básico es x = 10, con números cromosómicos somáticos de 2n = 20, 40 y 60. 2, 4, y 6 ploides.[1]
