The Cell (conocida como "La Célula" en Hispanoamérica y "La Celda" en España) es una película estadounidense estrenada en agosto del año 2000. Fue protagonizada por Jennifer López y Vince Vaughn y dirigida por Tarsem Singh.

Se destacan los paisajes y el vestuario en múltiples escenas. Estuvo nominada en los premios Oscar 2000 al mejor maquillaje, premio que finalmente se llevó El Grinch.

Sinopsis

Catherine Deane (Jennifer López), es una psicóloga que está experimentando una ciencia radicalmente nueva. Catherine puede experimentar lo que sucede en la mente inconsciente de otra persona, incluyendo sus sueños y sus meditaciones particulares. Hasta este momento, Catherine sólo ha utilizado este método, potencialmente enloquecedor, en un niño en estado de coma, en la esperanza de poder devolverlo al mundo y a sus padres. Pero cuando el sádico asesino Carl Stargher cae en un estado de coma similar, con su última víctima todavía viva, secuestrada en una celda[1] llena de trampas, el agente del FBI Peter Novak recurre a Catherine como su última esperanza.
