Equipo de expansión es un termino utilizado para un nuevo equipo en una liga deportiva. Este es más conocido en los deportes de Norteamérica, pero se aplica para todo el mundo para los equipos franquicia. El origen del termino es que la liga expande su presencia en nuevas ciudades.
